This policy covers the website at fry.ee, run by Fry Labs in Tallinn, Estonia. You can reach us at hello@fry.ee. The mobile app published under this domain has its own, separate privacy policy.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like any web server, ours records the IP address, time, requested address, referring page and browser details of each request. We use them to keep the site secure and to find errors, and keep them only as long as needed for that.
- Rate limiting. To stop abuse, we keep a short-lived temporary record tied to your IP address that counts recent requests to the lookup tool and the data feed.
- Email. If you write to hello@fry.ee we keep your message and address so we can reply.
What we do not do
The site has no accounts, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. If that changes, for example by adding ads, we will update this page first.
The IP and domain lookup tool
What you type into the lookup tool is checked against our own data. To build the result, the tool also sends it to other services:
- The IP address to AlienVault OTX, for its reputation data.
- The domain or IP address to rdap.org, for registration and network ownership data.
- The IP address, as a DNS query, to public blocklists such as Spamhaus and SpamCop, and to DNS resolvers for reverse and forward lookups.
- For a domain, our server connects to that domain's own web server to read its TLS certificate and HTTP response headers.
Results are cached for a few hours so that repeated lookups of the same target do not trigger repeated requests. The cache is not tied to you.
Fonts from Google
Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy.
Threat data we publish
The dashboard and archives republish data from public threat feeds: NVD, AbuseIPDB, URLhaus, TweetFeed and OTX. This includes IP addresses, domains and URLs that others reported as malicious. We show it as we receive it. If an entry about your own address or domain is wrong, email us and we will review removing it from our archive. The original source keeps its own copy, so a correction there is needed too.
Why we process data
We rely on our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in running and securing the site and publishing public security information. Replying to your email is done at your request.
Hosting
The site runs on a server hosted by Hetzner. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of data we hold about you, and you can object to how we use it. Write to hello@fry.ee.
